LED Light Therapy, also known as phototherapy, is a non-invasive treatment that uses specific wavelengths of light to support healthy skin function and overall tissue wellbeing.

While the therapeutic use of light dates back to ancient civilisations such as Egypt, Greece, and Rome, modern LED Light Therapy developed in the 1990s when NASA investigated light technology to support tissue healing and help maintain muscle health during space missions.

Their research demonstrated that red and near-infrared light could safely penetrate the skin and stimulate natural cellular repair processes through a mechanism known as photobiomodulation. This discovery provided the scientific foundation for the therapeutic use of LED Light Therapy in clinical and wellbeing settings.

The treatment uses light-emitting diodes (LEDs) to deliver targeted wavelengths that reach different layers of the skin, supporting cellular energy production, healthy circulation, and balanced tissue response. Each wavelength works to encourage optimal skin function and physiological balance.

LED Light Therapy is a gentle and safe treatment with no downtime. Perfect for those seeking a supportive, non-invasive approach to promoting skin health, aiding natural recovery processes, and enhancing overall wellbeing.

Benefits of LED Light Therapy

Research indicates that LED Light Therapy supports collagen synthesis and fibroblast activity, helping to maintain healthy skin structure, strength, and resilience. By encouraging balanced cellular function, the treatment assists the skin in maintaining its natural integrity over time.

LED Light Therapy also helps regulate inflammatory responses within the skin, making it beneficial for individuals experiencing inflammatory conditions such as acne, rosacea, broken capillaries, or vascular sensitivity. By calming irritation and supporting tissue stability, it contributes to overall skin comfort and balance.

The therapy further supports healthy pigmentation processes and promotes even cellular turnover, assisting the skin in restoring a more uniform and stable appearance as part of its natural renewal cycle.

In addition, LED Light Therapy encourages tissue repair and regeneration, supporting recovery from skin stress, minor damage, or non-invasive procedures. It may also help reduce discomfort and inflammation following treatments, contributing to improved healing and overall wellbeing.

Blue Light

Blue light supports balanced sebum production and helps manage mild to moderate acne by calming inflammation and supporting healthy cellular activity. It also contributes to skin clarity and can have a positive effect on mood and wellbeing.

Green Light

Green light is ideal for sensitive or reactive skin. It helps regulate pigmentation processes, promotes healthy cell turnover, and supports tissue repair and wound healing. Its anti-inflammatory properties and impact on serotonin release contribute to overall emotional wellbeing.

Yellow Light

Yellow light stimulates microcirculation and supports red blood cell activity, aiding tissue healing and natural regeneration. It helps calm inflammation and swelling, while supporting healthy muscle tone and the resilience of skin tissues.

Red Light

Penetrating deeper into the skin, red light encourages collagen synthesis and supports tissue integrity, helping the skin maintain strength and flexibility. It improves blood flow and aids recovery following procedures such as microneedling, dermaplaning, or chemical peels, supporting overall skin function.

Purple Light

Purple light penetrates deeply to support tissue repair, reduce inflammation, and promote healthy recovery post-treatment. Suitable for mature or sensitive skin, it supports both skin health and overall wellbeing.

This treatment is available as Add-On to your holistic facials and skincare (Camberwell/Oval only).
